since 2001 is conducting her research activity at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. In the field of Legionella, her interest is focused on prevention and control of environmental contamination. Current research concerns the development and implementation of water safety plans in healthcare and community structures, and the evaluation of innovative disinfection methods in terms of effectiveness against Legionella contamination, avoiding formation of toxic by-products and/or corrosive action in the water networks. She is author and co-author of 42 original papers and 81 abstracts presented at national and international conferences, and responsible of the laboratory for Legionella environmental analyses. She coordinates and  updates the Italian web site www.legionellaonline.it entirely devoted to the legionellae “world”.
